well bought this 98 escort zx2 two door with a zetec engine and pussy auto transmission in it. not meaning to mod it at first. but the thing had 90k on it. but getting to the point. a buddy of mine had a 2003 ford focus svt 5 door version. well same car same chassis and motor base. so turns out in 2005 he totalled it. he was going to junk it at first. screw that. i bought the car off of him for $1,500 i ripped the motor and 6 speed manual out and where did i put it right into the zx2. it WAS when it was stock quick. even faster now. its work in progress. but with stock motor and trans. i could blow the doors off by a few car lengths on the factory focus svt. why the zx2 is lighter and smaller. but its nice. so i am driveing the 1998 ford escort zx2. But its original. In my way. its got an svt focus motor and trany. i started moding it like any other ricer out there. i currently have a CAI, Exhaust from header on. chip. and a jackson racing supercharger. cams. i got new fuel rail and fuel pump and injectors. its got new gaskets. new intake manifold. short throw. new fly wheel. tripple plate clutch. and a smaller pulley. on sc. its got nuts to it. if anyone has any questions please ask. or any comments please add. or any tips or even suggestions. please add. i am currently trying or going to swap the interior from the svt to the zx2. i really want the seats more than anything. the dash would be nice though. oh whats funny the factory zx2 mph only says 110. the svt focus says 160mph when my zx2 hits the "110" mph marker it bounces like bouncing off the needle at the end its quite funny.
