hot wheels spinoff picture thread!

so after I splurged on some new hot wheels cars last night, I decided after work today that I would venture into the basement and search for my long lost hot wheels/matchbox collection, mostly because I knew I had some cars that are forever discontinued (like the Mercedes-Benz Unimog ). After one evening of search, I believe I've recovered about half of my prior collection. Unfortunately only about 2/3 of that half fits on my cork board for easy photo presentation:

Yes, there are indeed three vehicles (front end loader, hum-vee, and 80s chevy van) with custom primer/murder paint jobs. I had a fun childhood. There are some fairly rare vehicles in the mix, too, such as my beloved Oscar-Meyer Wienermobile, which is partially hidden behind the black Kenworth.

Anyone else got a collection to show? Obviously since these are my childhood toys, none of them are in pristine condition, and the majority are, well, let's not mince words, in poor condition. But every single one of the cars in the picture (with the exception of one, guess which!) still rolls, and is still playworthy IMO.

I'll put together my more recent acquisitions later, after I'm done figuring out how to get my entire old collection in a single shot (and after recovering the remainder from the basement).

Bonus points to the person who can point out the oldest hot wheels car shown.

I have cases of them stored somewhere, most likely in my parents basement. From about 1998 to 2003 I was a fairly serious collector as I probably have most of the 'New Editions' models for each of those years. Of course, they are all still sealed in the blister packs and will remain that way. Eventually, I want to put up some pegboard in my basement and display them that way. If I manage to find some boxes, I'll try to get some pics up.

Toy cars that will never be played with...

I'm still gathering pieces of track I find during my search, gonna put together a circuit if possible. I'm also probably going to give many of my older cars to my friend's son, who is going on 4 now. Let the next generation enjoy them.

Most of mine died in a house fire, so I have a very small number that I'm building back up.

I hate the internet because it made me buy this 3-Lane Super Speedway set when I watched the video review. That's going to be my combined birthday/xmas gift to myself, I guess

Goddammit... that looks like a lot of fun... I don't know if that was a "put-on" voice, but it was a very funny review, and kinda made me feel like a little kid again, just watching the cars go around and crash/fly off the track/etc...

Jesus Christ that set is loud as hell...and it seems like there's random crashes just cause, which is fun and all but not if I paid over a hundred bucks for it...tell me you got a better deal than that, Geoff...

Just a few of my oldschool Matchbox buses. I have A LOT of old Matchbox, as it is primarily what I collect. All open, no boxes!

Geoff, I made sure to buy duplicates of the ones I really wanted to open and play with. Just haven't found them yet. Most favorite one I want to get out is the 56 Ford panel with dual quads and high rise intake.
