Some of you will remember me. Four years ago I was daily driving a '71 Datsun 510 wagon. Then I was an idiot and hit a pickup truck with it.
So I started pulling stuff apart, but didn't have the funds to get it together at the time, and it ended up sitting in my garage for the last few years. A lot of people have encouraged me to dump the car in the past, but that's just not going to happen.
A couple of weeks ago, while on break in South Padre Island, I had a flash. This is the year the wagon will live again.
With four years of neglect on top of the damage, I have my job cut out for me, but I'm starting with the basic body work, some of which needs to be done just to get a radiator into it again, then going over all of the mechanical and electrical systems before putting it back on the road.
I have a goal of 14 June, to have it running and driving. Though if things work out as they have so far, I'll beat that goal. Then I'll work on the little body stuff remaining before paint.
And Yes, it's going to get the rising sun hood again.
