Worthy of saving?

The father of a friend of mine wants to sell this bike to me. It's a 70's Honda 450. I don't know anything else about it. The frame looks good and the seat might be salvageable. It doesn't seem to need much in the way of metalwork. I've been told that it ran when it was stored. Is it worth restoring? I want a streetbike and I wouldn't mind working for it.

Well then how much do you think I should offer for it? He didn't specify any amount that he wanted.

If it runs now, then, yeah, 200 bucks would be a niiice price... if it needs a lot of work just to get running again, even 200 might be a bit generous.

I'm assuming that whatever fuel was in it is now sludge, so I'd definitely be rebuilding the carbs.

I like to offer 200 bucks as a token gesture for any non running vehicle I consider worth reviving.

I'm not a fan of the cafe racer look. The owner of the one I posted wanted more than $200 anyway, so I figure it's not worth it. Old CBs in good shape don't go for much.
